Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility (WWTRF)

The Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility (WWTRF) handles all the wastewater needs for Lincoln and some surrounding communities. It is an $85 million facility located on a 41-acre site in Lincoln. The plant has a capacity rating of 5.9 million gallons of wastewater per day (mgd) with flexible expansion capability up to 25 to 30 mgd.

What is the treatment capacity of the Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility? 
The dry weather capacity of the plant is 5.9 million gallons per day (MGD).  The average flow last year was 5.0 MGD.  In total, 1,814 MG of flow came into the treatment plant last year.  All of it is treated to recycled water standards.  851 MG was sent to reclamation and 842 MG was discharged to Auburn Ravine and the remainder evaporated or was stored in ponds. 50% of the discharge is recycled water.

The plant delivered about 851 million gallons of recycled water in the previous year.
