About TAB:

Our Teen Advisory Board began meeting for the first time in 2022, with the goal of helping teens to make a difference in our community, and we’re very excited about what they’ve already accomplished!

Our Mission:

The mission of the Lincoln Public Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is to assist the library in creating events and developing resources that fulfill the needs and interest of teens, and to promote the library to teens and the community.

How to join TAB:

Fill out the Teen Advisory Board application and e-mail it to us, or drop it off at the Library.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

Expectations of TAB Members:

  • Attend monthly meetings, training and events
  • Communicate effectively through email and online tools
  • Suggest books, magazines, music and other materials for purchase
  • Promote the library to your peers
  • Set goals and work well with other team members to achieve them

Requirements:

TAB members will help plan, implement, promote, and attend teen library programs and events. Members will be expected to attend monthly meetings to organize these programs and to offer input on other library services and materials. Members will also act as ambassadors for the library by getting their friends involved, sharing information about upcoming events with friends and teachers, and bringing back input and suggestions from the community.

Our TAB group meets several times a month. We want teens in our community to feel heard and have a voice, so join us at a TAB meeting not only for fun and the occasional snack, but to have input on the teen programs and activities the Lincoln Public Library provides.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a high school student, or in between ages 14 to 18.
  • Must! be willing to commit to monthly meetings, and commit to a one year term on TAB.
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Must be interested in the library and improving library services for teens.
