Community Center Park
Conceptual Plan
Project Background
- The Fiscal Year 2023/25 Capital Improvement budget includes funds to master plan, design and construct a phase of the 4-acre park site within the City of Lincoln adjacent to the Lincoln Community Center.
- The City Council authorized professional services contract with Schmidt Design Group for the design of the Community Center Park Master Plan and Phase 1 improvements.
- The Community Center Park is bounded by a vacant parcel to the north (3rd Street), Joiner Parkway to the east, 1st Street to the south and the Community Center and an elementary school to the west.
- From late 2023 through the first quarter of 2024, staff met with the design consultant (Schmidt Design Group) to provide input for the Community Center Park. On March 27, 2024, a unique meeting with interested skatepark stakeholders was held to garnish additional input with respect to the skate park amenities.
