Project Background

Aldo Pineschi Jr. Park, formerly known as Henry Rood/Brentford Circle Park, is located within the Lincoln Crossing neighborhood, adjacent to Scott M. Leaman Elementary School.

The site will remain closed for the duration of construction through late 2026, though select amenities may open in Fall 2026 on a case-by-case basis. For questions or concerns regarding this project, please email Travis Williams or at 916-434-3233.

Current Construction Progress

The contractor continues to make progress, and has finalized the irrigation system and electrical components. The contractor is working on installation of all landscaping materials including the sod for the soccer field. Striping of the sports court has been completed and parking lot striping will occur prior to project completion. They anticipate being completed by mid-August. However, the 90-day landscape maintenance period is necessary prior to the City fully accepting the park.

Early Phase of Construction

The contractor has installed the restroom facility and completed a majority of the utilities, with the exception of irrigation. The work pictured involved placement of concrete pathways, installation of mainline irrigation, fencing for the sport court, and installation of playground equipment and shade structure.

Vision for the Completed Park

The new 5.4-acre park will include sport court for basketball and futsal, multi-use field for soccer and picnicking, sand volleyball court, ping pong table and cornhole goals, and two play structures (one for ages 2-5 and one for ages 5-12), a parking lot and additional access points at all sides of the site for pedestrian access. Also, the Project will include a restroom building, shade shelter, barbeque grills, drinking fountains, and benches. The plan pictured provides the vision for the park once completed.

Parking and Access Closures

As it is an active construction site, the park will be completely fenced off and no access will be allowed for everyone’s safety. The exhibit pictured provides alternative pedestrian routes.
