Where Do Your Leaves Go? Fall Leaf Disposal Options
Leaves are Fall-ing, so make sure you know where they go! Lincoln has a few different options for residents.
Downtown Residents
Lincoln’s Leaf Collection Program runs from November 1 to December 31 for all downtown residents. Here are a few things you should know:
- To participate, no sign-up is needed. Just check the leaf collection map to know when you need to have leaves ready for collection.
- Once you know your area’s leaf collection schedule, rake your leaves into a neat pile in the street. Be sure to keep storm drains and gutters clear.
All Residents
Don’t live downtown? No problem! You can take your leaves and green waste to the Western Placer Waste Management Authority’s (WPWMA) Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). A one-time, FREE voucher mailed to Lincoln residents in the October utility bill is valid at the MRF from November 1 to December 31. To prepare for drop-off, check the following:
- You have two cubic yards or less of green waste—any more will cost money.
- No branches or other debris are included in your bags.
- No palm fronds are allowed in green waste material. Please break down and dispose of palm fronds in your One & Done trash container.
If you don’t live downtown and are unable to make a drop-off, you can use your green waste container for your fall leaves! Simply request an extra pickup or add another green waste container to your service. Additional costs may apply for these services. If you have any questions regarding leaf collection or drop-off, contact the Public Works Department at (916) 434-2450.
