Community Center Park

Conceptual Plan

The Fiscal Year 2023/25 Capital Improvement budget includes funds to master plan, design and construct a phase of the 4-acre park site within the City of Lincoln adjacent to the Lincoln Community Center.
The City Council authorized professional services contract with Schmidt Design Group for the design of the Community Center Park Master Plan and Phase 1 improvements.
The Community Center Park is bounded by a vacant parcel to the north (3rd Street), Joiner Parkway to the east, 1st Street to the south and the Community Center and an elementary school to the west.
From late 2023 through the first quarter of 2024, staff met with the design consultant (Schmidt Design Group) to provide input for the Community Center Park. On March 27, 2024, a unique meeting with interested skatepark stakeholders was held to garnish additional input with respect to the skate park amenities.

Complete by Winter 2026

Construction - Phase 1

Phase 1 Construction will include:

Skate Park (~16,700 sf)
Entry Plaza and Metal Fence enclosure
Walkways, Site Lighting, Underground Utilities, and Landscaping
Grading of approximately 1.1-acres of the site and would leave the rest of the site undeveloped at this time.

Construction will begin Spring 2026
