Street Sweeping

Street sweeping plays a key role in helping the City of Lincoln comply with State and Federal Clean Water Act regulations, supporting a safe, clean, and attractive environment for our community. By removing dirt, leaves, and debris from our streets, street sweeping helps prevent pollutants from entering the storm drain system, which flows directly to our local creeks, rivers, and waterways. This service is provided by the City’s Solid Waste Division, which operates specialized equipment to collect, remove, and properly dispose of debris and other waste materials.

Residents can count on regular street sweeping to maintain a consistently clean appearance throughout neighborhoods. In downtown, industrial, and other commercial areas, street sweeping also contributes to a welcoming and well-maintained environment that helps attract shoppers, support new businesses, and retain existing ones.

The City makes every effort to follow the street sweeping schedule; however, occasional delays may occur due to staffing or resource availability. We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding.
