Fire Department

The Lincoln Fire Department has served the community since November 14, 1896, when Lincoln Hose Company #1 was established as a volunteer organization. Like many fire services of the era, it was built on community members who stepped forward to provide protection. Today, the department has grown into a modern, all-risk agency staffed by 32 members. Operating from three full-time stations, the department fields three engine companies staffed with three firefighters each, along with a Battalion Chief on duty daily. Lincoln firefighters respond to more than 6,500 calls for service each year, providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, and rescue. The department is led by a Fire Chief and supported by a Fire Marshal who oversees fire prevention and development services for the community.

We are proud to be recognized as an ISO Class 2 Fire Department, a rating that reflects the high level of service, training, equipment, and emergency response capability we provide. This rating places the Lincoln Fire Department among the top fire protection agencies in the nation, demonstrating our commitment to excellence and the safety of the community we serve.
