Homicide Investigation and Arrest – 1200 block of Earlton Lane
On December 10, 2024, shortly before 9:00 p.m., Lincoln Police Department officers responded to a 911 hang-up call from a residence in the 1200 block of Earlton Lane in Lincoln. Upon arrival, officers contacted 52-year-old Emmanuel Lasu, who appeared to be covered in blood. Officers then entered the residence to conduct a welfare check and located a deceased adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Due to the nature of the incident, Lincoln Police Department detectives and a crime scene investigator assumed primary responsibility for the investigation. Investigators from the Placer County District Attorney’s Office also responded to assist. A thorough search of the residence and surrounding area was conducted for physical evidence and potential witnesses. A firearm was recovered from the residence. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office later identified the victim as 34-year-old Jonathan Williams.
During the initial investigation, investigators developed probable cause to arrest Lasu on suspicion of homicide. The Lincoln Police Department and the Placer County District Attorney’s Office continued to work collaboratively to review the evidence, conduct follow-up investigation, and evaluate the case as additional information became available.
On July 6, 2026, the Placer County District Attorney’s Office filed homicide charges against Lasu. The same day, deputies from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, along with Lincoln Police Department detectives, located and took Lasu into custody. He was later booked into the South Placer County Jail on suspicion of homicide.
