Recent devastating fires in the Pacific Palisades and Altadena communities highlight the need for vigilance and preparation in Lincoln. Extreme weather events and wildland-urban interface conditions could pose similar threats here. The City of Lincoln and its Fire Department are committed to enhancing our community’s safety and preparedness, but we need your help.
The City of Lincoln is proactively taking steps to protect our community, including:
- Pre-Planning and Training: Developing response plans and ensuring fire personnel are prepared for large wildland fire scenarios. Also, plan for future preparedness events for the community.
- Assessing Resources: Reviewing water supply capabilities, and all resources for improved readiness.
- Fire Hydrant Inspections: Ensuring hydrants are operational and accessible.
- Evacuation Planning: Refining plans to ensure safe and efficient evacuations.
- Land Management: Continuing vegetation reduction programs like grazing, with plans to expand efforts.
