Adopt-A-Street
The City of Lincoln’s Adopt-A-Street program is part of a litter reduction campaign designed to remove litter and debris from city streets and improve the quality of our environment.
About the program
- There is no fee to adopt a street.
- Any organization or business in Lincoln can apply.
- All participants agree to pick up litter from a segment of a street for a period of one year.
- Litter must be picked up at least quarterly.
- The City will install and maintain a sign at each end of the adopted area bearing the name of the sponsoring organization.
- The program is designed to operate with a minimum of red tape and minimal supervision by the City of Lincoln.
- There is an annual renewal if you would like to adopt the same street or choose a different street to adopt.
- Clean-up for certain streets will require coordination with Streets department regarding mowing schedule. For more information, please contact the Adopt-A-Street Coordinator.
If you would like to apply, please fill out the online application and submit it along with:
A certificate of general liability insurance in which the City is named as an Additional Insured

Proof of Workers Compensation insurance coverage provided ONLY employees covered under said policy are permitted by adopter to participate in the program.
