To minimize the spread of COVID-19, the City will be reducing service levels to essential services only. All City Hall offices are closed, except the main customer service counter (which is now open Monday-Friday from 8AM-5PM), Development Services, and the Permit Counter which is also open 8AM-5PM. Business Licenses


Any person or entity transacting or conducting business in the City of Lincoln needs to pay for a business license. Residents who operate a business from their home are also required to apply for a home occupation permit. A City of Lincoln business license is valid from January 1 to December 31.

Tax-exempt corporations pursuant to Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)3 are no longer required to obtain a business license for their charitable operations in the City of Lincoln.
