In February of 2015, due to a growing population, the City of Lincoln was divided into two zones (designated blue and yellow) for green waste collection. The green waste cans in these zones are served on alternating weeks.
For example, at left is the map of the area served by Solid Waste on Mondays. During a blue week, the blue area would be served for green waste, and during a yellow week, the yellow area would be served.
If you need to know your color, you can use the Trash-O-Matic 6000. The Trash-O-Matic 6000 is a powerful, interactive tool that advises the user not only of their color, collection day, and whether or not green waste is serviced this week, but also advises them when the next Universal Waste collection day and what day cans are repaired on that street. To use the Trash-O-Matic 6000, simply go to www.lincolnca.gov/trashomatic and select your street from the drop-down list. All the data (including what color that street is and what color week we are currently in) will be displayed for that street.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at PublicServices@lincolnca.gov or call us at (916) 434-2450.
