Code Enforcement Division
The City of Lincoln Code Enforcement Division promotes and maintains health and safety for the citizens of Lincoln. Through education and enforcement the staff assists to maintain the quality of the community, in partnership with residents, neighborhood associations, public service agencies and city departments. The Code Enforcement staff works to prevent and abate nuisances on private property and Lincoln Municipal Code (LMC) gives the city the authority to enforce and abate violations. The following are some of the more frequent violations:
- Property Maintenance - LMC 8.08
- Inoperable vehicles; not currently registers and/or not running - LMC 10.72
- Storage of RV's, Boats and Trailers on private property - LMC 18.36.030
- Graffiti on private property - LMC 8.14
- Signs - LMC 16
- Property Setbacks - LMC 18.12.070
- Accessory Buildings - LMC 18.36.050
- Illegal Second Units - LMC 18.37
- Home Occupation Violations - LMC 18.62
- Livestock not permitted; chickens, rabbits, goats, etc. - LMC 18.12.010 & 18.04.020
